Description Slyvet's Story:
This proud beast was brought to us after being hit by a car and found, quite by accident, by one of our vets walking their dog. The driver, assuming they had hit and killed a bird, continued on without further thought. You'd be surprised how often birds aren't truly dead after such an impact. Occasionally, you get a bird who is in shock, but otherwise unharmed, as was the case with this Wyvern. He was boxed up immediately and brought to us to ensure that there was no damage to his bones or muscles, during which time we took a few snaps of him. After a day's rehabilitation and much eager flapping, it was determined that he was indeed perfectly alright. We released him near to where he had been found, knowing it was likely he had a mate nearby who would be looking for him. He flew from the box without a second thought. It is always nice to have a happy ending to a wildcare story.

This species is a prime example of what happens when secondary sexual traits, designed to visually impress the opposite gender, become favoured over evolutionary fitness. These Wyvern are poor flyers, though their tough scales and long talons allow for spectacular fights to impress mates or assert dominance over others. Both males and females express brilliant colours. Their tough scales protect them so well that they seldom suffer threats from any other species, or their own kind, which is the primary reason for this pretty over practical evolutionary path.

Creation Information

All items are hand crafted and unique; I never repeat a design, nor use pre-made patterns, casts, or moulds.

This creature was created from scratch using using hand sculpted paper magiclay and trimmed card over carved foam. Due to its individual scales and wire armature, its whole body is able to be bent into a variety of poses. Painted using an airbrush and sponges, it has intricate markings on every scale. The eyes are glass with painted backs to make it eerily lifelike - they even seem to follow you around the room!

They are not toys, but collectable artworks suitable for responsible fantasy lovers of all ages.

That is ah-mazing. If I really wanted to buy it, I would totally put it on the shelf with my dragon collection.

Thanks!

He isn't for sale, that's why his story has a release ending I'll be making more like him in the future and offering commissions in this style, but I'd like to improve the technique a little first.
