It would be awesome and hilarious if we got an OVA of this game and Dr. Light introduces his creation Mega Man to Professor Sycamore. I can see a Wily/Xerosic team up, modifying select pokemon to fit the role of "robot masters" while teaming up with some familiar faces. The main setting would be Lumoise City, especially the tower. There, since Elec Man is the Mega Man assist trophy they used for Smash Bros., turns Clemont's tower into his own stage, complete with the battle arena you fight Clemont being Elec Man's fight zone. I doΒ imagine Megaman fighting Greninja at one point though, just because Greninja reminds me too much of Shadow Man for them NOT to make a small joke about.

If the Smash Bros universe did follow all PokΓ©mon logic, Charizard would be wiped out in a millisecond by Greninja, assuming they're both the same level...and there'd need to be a trainer for both Charizard and Lucario in order to activate their mega evolutions.

That would make the game too complex and certainly unfair, so it's understandable they do not follow the whole thing exactly.
If it followed the Mega Man universe exactly, Mega Man's smash would not be possible, and Elec Man would probably wipe out Mega Man too easily. And following that, probably Pikachu would also be op against Mega Man
