A self-portrait is never, according to me, a manifesto of our narcissism. It' s never done in order to show us at our best; in fact, it's all the opposite .
Introducing our self-portraits, is thowing at the face of the world, with or without shame, our various faces. It is revealing ourselves, taking risks, exposing ourselves to danger...It is also creating our own myths.
