He was such a happy baby. Always smiling and laughing. I would never tire of the sounds of his giggles.He could make me smile even on bad bays and cheer me up no matter how upset I was. Every time looked I him I fell in love all over again. It was the strangest sensation, this unconditional love. It was almost painful how much I loved him. I'd do anything for him. Kill for him. Die for him. Anything.

When he started crawling I knew that was only the beginning of the trouble making. He was constantly on the move and curious about absolutely everything. When the crawling turned into walking and eventually running it was a mother's worst nightmare. I'd look away for no more than a few seconds and he was off, looking for adventure, exploring the world. In those moments I would have given anything to freeze time, to keep him young and innocent and carefree forever. To let him play and make friends for eternity. A perfect age where I could protect him, when he still needed me to keep him safe from the evil that lurked in the darkness.

It didn't last forever. It didn't even last as long as I hoped it would but I had known it was coming which is why I did my best to capture the important moments.
