Not many players I would put higher on my list of favorite players of all time.
Very little reason other than for guarding the goalposts on the team I rooted for World Championship in 1998.
The reason an 8-year-old Finn would root for FRANCE? No idea. They... had friendly faces? Who knows.

Didn't gain as much popularity with others, especially Manchester United fans who reportedly endured some crazy antics from Barthez costing them many matches, but to me he's the barely 180 cms of goalkeeping magic who denied the likes of Ronaldo, Albertini, Del Piero and that one bloke from Croatia at the end of the 1998 semifinal on their way to consecutive World and European Championships in 1998 and 2000 (and climbing all the way to second place in 2006 when everyone thought their team was a relic of the past.)

As for artisting tips, much like I modeled my Thibaut Courtois after a whippet, Barthez was modeled after a dog too: an English bull terrier.
