Today I was going through my external hard-drive and found some gems from my days back at LiveJournal when I used to enter icon contests like it was my job. I wanted to re-create one of my favorite entries, but on a larger scale I came up with the idea of giving Toph wings as soon as she was introduced in the series. While it initially seemed selfish on her part, because she didn't want to be sheltered anymore and wanted freedom, she ultimately led herself to her own happiness, a new family and most importantly, independence.
