Yeah, the lines are back from October. That's how long I usually take to get round to coloring stuff...It's worth the wait, though - my ability to color somewhat improoved since then.
Anyways, this is the Destiny Island Trio taking a short break after 3D. Riku has evolved into a Marowak now, while Sora and Kairi stay the same. I figured that was the best way to reflect him becoming a Keyblade Master.
(Also there is going to be new Pokemon games in October. I really need to finish White 2 till then...)

Sor ais very cute as a Taillow, and Riku is also cool as a Marowak. He has the skull of his mother on his head! XD No, I was just kidding.

Well, I always thought that Cubone only take their mother's skull if mommy dies, and otherwise use those of other deceased Pokemon that would fit.
Don't forget the Pokedex was filled by the kids, and Red and Blue must have both been very taken by what happend in Lavandia...

Yep, that was a weird place for a child's game. Well it is still better than some zombies in the legend of Zelda, rated for EVERY ONE!

I always found nothing wrong with being honest with children - of course, a graveyard is a scary place, but Pokemon conveyed the meaning of such a place in a way I've seen few other stories do.

I agree, your colouring technique has definitely improved - this looks amazing! Sora's wings, especially, look very natural and incredibly soft, while the shading on the heart and on Riku's skull create a strong sense of three dimensions - you almost expect them to pop out of the screen! I also love how Kairi's hair and skin blend so well together, to the point I don't even notice anymore that you added hair to the original Marill design.
The colours are not the only pros of this picture, though: the background is also one of my favourites among all those you did, if not my very favourite. Behind its simplicity, it really puts the characters at their best advantage. For exemple, I love the idea to leave the lower part blank and let it merge with the cloud on the left, it "opens up" the picture and gives off an impression of lightness, which works quite well with the fact the characters are taking a well-deserved rest. I also realize I much prefer gradients over flat one-tone blue when it comes to skies, especially when the gradient is well done and moves smoothly, unnoticedly from one shade to the other, like here.
The idea to render Riku's "promotion" as an evolution looks both obvious and genius. ^^ Plus, I really like his smile, you can actually see the skin crease under his eyes and this makes it look very genuine. Also, his smile works as a form of interaction with the other characters on the picture, which is always something I look for in a drawing.
Sora and Kairi interact with each other too in the form of physical contact (come on, all together now: aaaaaw!), although I had some problems understanding how and where Sora was sitting exactly. I first thought he was lying on top of Kairi, then I noticed his claws under his wings. I still don't understand how Kairi's tail can be long enough to come from behind him and end up at his claws, though.
And while I'm speaking of flaws, I think the line of Sora's hair should be a tad higher between the outer edge of his right eye and the middle of his beak.
But, really, this isn't stopping me from thinking this is one of your best drawings... The colouring is just so good, the background so sweet, and the interactions between the characters so heartwarming... This can only make me hope they'll know many many other days like this, just watching the clouds and chilling out without the slighest bit of worry in the worlds!

I'm really glad the coloration makes such a good impression. Again, I can hardly take praise for the gradient; GIMP has those pretty much preinstalled, I just have to pick one and set the direction.
Sora's positioning wasn't easy - stupid bird anatomy - but I think it turned out okay the way I see it; but I know how I meant him to sit, after all
Kairis Tail is indeed long enough. Not only can Marill's tail extend if unfolded, it is (at least in my rendition) at least twice the lenght of it's body.
And yes, I hope they get plenty of time for just cloud-watching too.

It's so cute, I like Riku's bright colored eyes, though wouldn't Sora be evolved by now? I live them all, even Kairi looks like of cute.

Sora hasn't evolved (yet). The Outcome of 3D is what I reflected in this picture, and it was only Riku who made the mark.
The next game is supposed to be a Main game (KHIII) although I don't think they really started making it yet.

Yes, that's what I think too. He really worked hard to get where he is now.
No, DDD is not KHIII. it's like CoM, just an small episode between two greater stories.
