Description

Serposia is one of two colonized worlds of the Aquellan Republic beyond their home system of Indis Eridanis (Formally Epsilon Eridani). Serposia is a relatively small planet, only 30% larger than the Moon of Aquella itself. It is the 4th planet of 12 in the Akaterus Star System. It has a dense iron ferrite core giving it near standard gravity despite its small size.

The planet has no satellites and was colonized only a little over 700 years ago. The total population is 626 million with 95% of the inhabitants living within 100 kilometers of Serposia's single ocean in the Eastern hemisphere. The terrain on the western side of the world is covered in dense jungle, deep crevasses, high crags and craters with boggy bottom. That makes much of the planet inhospitable for habitation. Closer to the ocean are grasslands with small meandering rivers spilling into the mildly salty oceanic basin.

The planet is mostly tropical but snow does fall in the polar regions in winter. Due to the small size of this planet the tropical climate reaches nearly to the poles with north and south sub-tropical climate regions only 200 kilometers from the poles themselves. The moon underwent heavy meteorite bombardment just over a millennia ago and the plant is covered in craters though most are well concealed by dense jungle. The meteorite impacts have created a thin layer of dust that stays completely stable sandwiched between the tropopause and the stratosphere. This gives Serposia some of the most colorful and vibrantly beautiful sunsets and sunrises in the treaty zone.

The cities are vibrant and modern and next to Aquella is one of the top vacation destinations in the USTO due to its endless beaches of white sand and crystal-clear warm ocean waters. Massive reef systems ring the shallow ocean making recreational diving a very popular activity.

Thunderstorms frequent the world year-round and are a near daily event. Many storms become massive supercells towering well into the planet’s stratosphere.

Serposia has a rich ecosystem on both land in in the sea.
