Brilliant. Β I'd love to know what your equipment is. Β I have an 8" Celestron and a Canon XTi, and my shots are nowhere as clear as this. Β This is awesome! Β Great job! Β ^_^

Thanks a lot! I use an 8'' Orion dob and an Orion Starshoot USB II, plus a 2x Barlow lens. Any footage is then stacked and cleaned up through Registax. ...Perhaps I should start putting such things in the description haha.Β
Have you tried stacking and processing your shots? This one wouldn't have been nearly as clear without that.

To be honest, I've really only begun, so my stuff is all single shots. Β Hoping to start doing the stacking and processing this summer/autumn. Β If you know of any resources I can reference for tips, I'd really appreciate it!! Β ^_^

Well, there is a wide assortment of articles and such on Google, as well as videos on Youtube with users explaining their techniques or how to use software. Also, there are sites such as Sky and Telescope or Space.com that occasionally do articles on photography... here's a few on S&T:Β www.skyandtelescope.com/astronβ¦
Unfortunately, DSLR cameras are way out of my budget, so I don't have any resources specifically tailored towards those off-hand... Sorry about that. :/

An 8 inch Orion Classic Dob, the Orion Starshoot USB II and the accompanying software. Also, a 2x Barlow lens... Couldn't live without that.Β

Thanks! But I just take the shot, the conditions are what deserve real credit for this. The atmosphere was by far the most stable I've ever seen, so there was virtually distortion of the image.
