Description Ah.. so late in posting this, haha. I finally got the Canon worked out. Anyway, this a Buche De Noel. Chiffon cake with a French buttercream filling. The "bark" is chocolate ganache~ and mushrooms are meringues.

Waa it's rather long to type out(bleh the cookbook I referred to had 3pgs of hard text x_x)~ but I'll link you to recipes closest to the one I used:

the basic cake and assembly: [link] (skip out on icing the the outside of the roll with the buttercream I'll give you a recipe for the ganache "bark" covering in the next link)

chocolate ganache: [link] (wait until the ganache has set enough to be stiff but still spreadable. after you're done spreading it on the "buche" run the tines of a fork to create a wood-like texture)

meringue mushrooms: [link] (Instead of using the white chocolate to "glue" the stems to the cap, you can use the chocolate ganache to put them together. It saves a bit of resource, haha and adds the illusion of the mushrooms having "gills" underneath them. I also like to dust them with a bit of cocoa powder for a nice effect ;])

>3< Waa, feel free to bug me if you have questions!
