D; I've always wanted to make manjuu... but never had the time, since it's quite time consuming. Buut~ somehow I managed to pull myself out of my laziness and make some. The filling is just "an" or red bean paste. For the ears, I simply heated a small metal pick and gently placed it on the surface of the bun... as for the facial features~ just a brush and red food coloring.Related content

Nope~ it's quite different, actually. The manjuu is made from wheat flour whereas mochi is made from glutinous rice flour. So it has a bread-y texture while mochi is nice and chewy~ =]

Yep~ though it depends on people's tastes. Some think the paste is much too sweet~ but I think it's awesome. ;3 You should give it a try sometime~ if you can get your hands on a can of the paste! (=
