Wiping away my tears as they fall black upon my cheeks,
I look out the window, feeling vulnerable and unfree.
Birds chirping, and people walking, as I sit here and cry,
feeling held back and alone, I show everyone my eyes.

They hide so much, yet unveil my deepest secrets,
slowly losing their earthy tone, along with any interests.
My world suddenly feels so foggy and gray,
but how could it, it's such a perfect day...
but not in here, not in my soul,
as it slips away, starting to lose control.

My life has been flipped upside-down,
all people see is my repetitive frown.
I hope one day it all turns around,
and I can finally make a sound.

A sound so beautiful, everyone will want to hear,
a song of pure beauty, a song of cheer.
