Description (ignore the cringe description)

The Brundles, which are called the "hr`n" in their native language, are a race of highly intelligent sophonts that I made for a video game I want to make. The video game I want to make begins with exposition about how the Brundles and humans met. In the beginning, both the humans and Brundles both possess vast intergalactic empires, and have set up republics on different worlds. At one point, the humans head over to colonize yet another planet, only to find there are already aliens on this planet. This is their first contact with intelligent alien life, and they quickly deduce that these aliens are not native to the planet, and are interstellar explorers. The Brundles, in a burst of curiosity, send a few ships over the human outposts, only to have them shot down by the scared humans. This catapults both races into a tense, strained relationship, with both species possessing weapons capable of destroying entire planets in one sweep. The game's events take place a couple months after the initial attack against the Brundles, called the "Outer Orbital Clash," or the "Outer Orbital Assault."

In the video game I wish to make, you play as a human linguist who is tasked with learning about the Brundle intergalactic language. To do this, you consult the aid of a captured Brundle soldier, learning the grammar and structure of the language yourself, but learning about the nuances and more alien features of the language through him. Over the course of the game, you, the player, develop a close bond with the prisoner Brundle, and the game begins to tackle themes of tribalism and fear of those different than us. At the climax of the game, you have to prepare a sophisticated, thoughtful, genuine speech written in the Brundle language's orthography, and you must present this speech in the Brundle language on the galactic scale in front of hundreds of Brundle politicians in an attempt to amend the wounds wrought by the tension. If done right, then it will be the first step in bringing the humans and Brundles closer, repairing their intergalactic relations. If done wrong, then the tension between the two races will swell, and the relation between the two will continue to grow strained. However, I'm intending the speech act to be the last major act of the game, and all other actions taken after the speech, be it either for the good ending or bad ending, will be purely up to the player's imagination. So essentially, whether or not you get the good ending or bad ending, the game will end on an ambiguous cliffhanger

Physically, the Brundles reach about six to eight feet in height, and can weight around 170 lbs to 230 lbs. They are a hermaphroditic race, yet the require another hermaphrodite partner to reproduce to maximize genetic diversity, an evolutionary trait favored in complex fauna. They are a very altruistic species, but they will not hesitate to impede or even destroy anything that poses any kind of great threat to them, but they prefer to find other solutions. Destruction is a last-ditch effort. They are also a hive-minded species, but unlike how Hollywood portrays such species, the Brundles have a sense of individual identity. The hive-minded aspect manifests itself in their immense pride of their own species, and tend to hold what's best for the species on a higher level than what's best for them. But, like said before, they still have an individual identity. Because of this natural hive-mind nature, most of the Brundles have no national identity, and instead, an entire world can be a state of sorts. In fact, the idea of sovereign states and nations are an incredibly alien concept to them.

Brundle government is something I call a "democratic oligarchy." Essentially, the Brundles are able to elect their leaders in a free and democratic way, but these leaders that are elected hold the majority of the power. Typically, each planet will have one "High Council," in which the elected leaders will convene and discuss with each other, creating and enforcing laws. Typically, a High Council will have anywhere from nine to seventeen Council Members. All of these High Councils are in control of their own Republic World, but they are under the ultimate control and obedience of the Guardian Council, the council that is tasked with overseeing and governing the whole intergalactic union. Typically, the Guardian Council will have anywhere from seventeen to twenty five members. However, for both the High Councils and Guardian Council, there can never be an even number of Members, similar to the Supreme Court of the United States of our world. Along with these councils, each planet also has a People's Council, a council made up of elected officials meant to represent the people as a whole, similar to the House of Representatives of the Untied States of our world. Like the House, the People's Council tally of members is determined by the population of the planet. The Guardian Council doesn't really have a People's Council, but the lower High Councils will pass the ideas and wishes of the People's Councils up to the Guardian Council if needed. This whole government system is still in development, so I might change it in future posts related to the Brundles.
As for economics, the Brundle union (unofficial name) is a capitalistic society, meaning the market is in a constant state of competition and allows Brundles to attain higher statuses if they so wish to. I'm not very good at economics, so I could have gotten that wrong, so... Anyway, yeah, their economy is capitalistic, as I feel that kind of economic system would be most plausible and practical for an interstellar union.

Yeah, this is the end of this rather lengthy description, hope you all have a nice day or night. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments.
