Description I worked from 7pm to 6am on the backgrounds for my Dynamics animation. And of course I have class all day today so I feel less than 100% right now. But I got them all done. I'll be honest I spent half the time trying things that didn't work and starting over cuz i hated how it looked. I was trying to do things in fewer layers and trying speedpaints and stuff so as to not spend a ridiculous amount of time on these. of course that didn't work, so behold my masterpiece of some 200 layers! it was necessary to achieve the amount of depth that I wanted. And I'm happy I went with a really stylized approach in the end because it made it easier to handle, but it also meant I had to do it all at once because I didn't want to finish a different day and they not look the same because I use a different process. I'll be honest it was a rough night. I was getting dizzy and my eyes were losing focus, then around 5am I suddenly realized I was so hungry I couldn't stand up. Or it was that I was so tired that standing up would have resulted in me falling over. Either way I always keep snacks at my work station so everything turned out ok I am nooooooot an all-nighter kind of person. This piece took me about 4 hours. The other 1 was probably about 4 hours as well since that was the 1 I was testing processes on, even though it was a lot smaller.

I did take a couple breaks to eat and I brainstormed my next Dynamics project and I am SO EXCITED! I'm going to have to start on it early though (like this weekend or sooner if this 1 gets finished) It's going to be a lot more animation heavy than this one. though honestly still probably not a lot of work. But it's also going to have a 3D modeled environment and a couple props. It's not going to have as much going with dynamics as this one does, but I will be learning fluids and using that to make smoke I've already got all my rigs ready to go and start the next project.

Today my goal is to finish up the 3D stuff and prepare this project for rendering, which I'll try to get all the rendering done by Friday so that's a simple post production day (I love doing post production too :3 ) That's all for now. I look forward to showing you guys when its done ^_^

Nice, but the waves look very repetitious. Is that what you're going for? What are you using for the bump or displacement map? I have a setup that may help get them more random and realistic.

lol yeah that's just the maya ocean and I don't really know how to make it look realistic. I played with a lot of the attributes and never got it really how I wanted it. looks cool when its moving at least ^_^

And I'm definitely interested in any knowledge you'd like to share
