LETS TALK ABOUT PHI. This is an EXTREMELY old OC of mine that was on my list of 'characters from my childhood who are too cliche to make a comeback' list. He's based off of a super underground old PS1 game called Galerians that scared the living poo out of me when I was 12, and I created Phi from that horror. Looking back, Galerians is super cheesy and it was released a super long time ago so the graphics aren't that great, the voice acting is shit BUT REGARDLESS IT SCARED ME SO BAD PLAYING IT I WAS NEVER GOOD WITH HORROR.When I was writing a list of ocs who I was going to bring back, Phi was cut since his supernatural abilities overlapped with a lot of what was going on in Stranger things which was just released at the time. BUT super old friend of mine Hakadirune and I got in touch and she is also super passionate about Galerians and when she told me she was working on a new set of characters for a third installment, I just HAD to have a part in it.
So here's a lil sketch after our days of conversation regarding him

i've been alright. I got a bit overwhelmed but I'm starting to get back into things again. Closing my commissions and trades certainly helped

Aw awesome! It's so cool to see revamped characters. It's cool that you didn't really change very much to his design! That's a pretty dope backstory too ;D Is there a particular reason why Eva named him Phi? Is it short for anything?
I did that recently too with an old cringy demon OC I had a long time ago. I had to completely omit his old backstory because it was so edgy and terrible, but I loved him too much to just let him die. I still gotta work on his new backstory though xD

ahhh yes <3 <3 It's certainly fun to see how they change, but like ... also maybe now that I'm an adult I can't quite think of the same things as I did when I was a kid right? so it's fun to take these bizarre wild concepts and pick some things from it and make other things more professional to update them haha.
Phi isn't short for anything nope! Just Phi! A temporary name for now to call him by. There was this whole greek theme going on with my friends characters, so I also wanted something greek so he could fit in with the theme she had going on LOL
And LOL your demon oc sounds amazing hahaha Some of my ocs also have like the WORST backstories that i just like ... shuffle under the mat so that people don't learn about it and try to come up with something better LOLOL

Yeah honestly I feel like that too sometimes. I'll look back and think "wow how on earth did I come up with that?" But at the same time, I come up with things now that I never would have been able to as a kid. I don't think it's that we lose that creativity, it just changes as we grow up. We're inspired by different things, and all that. Revamping is still always fun though!!

hahha yes exactly xD you know whats up. You're right. You lose one part of your creativity but gain another when you grow up. That's what's so fun bout it htough haha.
I also made some pretty terrible stories xD !! But yeah, i also wouldn't have improved if i hadn't made those. Creativity is a skill just like anything else and needs to be worked on to improve haha

Yeah! And the upside is that you have the stuff you made when younger that you can work with again.
Even if you hate your work, you just gotta push through because you won't improve by just wishing. xD And yeah! A lot of people don't seem to understand that you're not just born with great ideas. You gotta work on them, and anyone could create something great if they took the time to really work on that skill.

Not going to lie, when I frst saw this I thought it was Android 16 from DBZ and I said "huh, I didn't expect her to be a Dragon Ball fan" XD. But seriously, he looks cool (the shading on this is unreal) and I'm looking forward to seeing more from him

Nah, the resemblance is totally there; messy red hair, blue(ish, maybe purple) eyes, green shirt. If Phi went to the gym, he'd be ready to cosplay the guy XD. Though admittedly I can't deny I have DBZ on the brain, a new game comes out next month and it looks awesome ^^.

And the red is natural. Sort of like he's been rubbing his eyes for too long. It's actually based off of a BJD, as they frequently are seen with red around their eyes. His lips are also based off of a BJD
