Description
A very common songbird in Ecuador, the chingolo sparrow *Zonotrichia capensis* (Emberizidae) lives and thrives in the urbanised landscapes of many Andean countries. Like some other songbird species, they have a lot of regional "dialects" in their songs, variations which the fledlings learn from hearing the adult birds singing, with "trendings" initiated by random dominant males.On top of that, many distinct subspecies thrive in the large distribution area of this bird.
