The last of a small batch of hand-drawn males, meant to be the mate of a canon lioness; and a single cub between each of them also hand drawn. c:

Vitani struggled after the loss of her brother and mother, despite having come to peace with the situation. Sometimes, she could see their reflections in water in her own face. She threw herself into her work as a border guard far more than what was healthy- until she went with king Simba to the border to greet a rogue. She recognized him instantly; the brother of one of her outlander pridesisters. He had been chased away by Zira when he'd come of age, and apparently he'd continued to visit his littermate in secret. He hadn't known where she'd went whenever they had went to live with the Pridelanders.

The issue? His littermate sister had been one of the casualties of the war in the storm, dying of her injuries a few mornings later. Once he found out, he was offered to stay for a while to grieve. Immediately, Vitani and this fellow became thick as thieves, able to talk together about some of their good memories about the deceased without judgement or worry. Slowly, they found healing in each other's company. Perhaps they fell in love, or perhaps they were simply good friends? Either way, they had each others' six from there on out.

At some point, they had a cub together- a little boy that somehow reminded them of all of the good parts of everyone they'd ever lost.
