Now that is a most curious coincidence with the colours o.O
Imagined the character I requested as a contemporary reenactor, with some limitations on gear due to open-carry laws and perhaps not 100% authentic fabrics and colours. With the more authoritative colour scheme and practical wargear, had they existed in the same setting the grey fox may well be the real deal; one of the historical figures the cape dog drew inspiration from.
Always peculiar when these coincidences happen.
