The barrels are a bit deformed, but apart from that the background has very atmosphere - especially like how the street and wall is slightly curved, and how the beam over the door is a bit tilted: It really adds to the impression of an early medieval city with winding streets, built along the curves of the land, and not a centimeter of space wasted.
Love the details on the tunic, especially the woven patterns. They wrap quite nicely around the curves, adding a little extra depth. I'm not familiar with this particular cut and wouldn't mind learning more - a bit surprised there is no description, as the subject is quite rare. When it comes to the figure, got to say this is an anthro that has something many others don't: Even from the other side of the room without glasses, just one look at the proportions of the head and tail immediately identify him as a polecat. Well done!
Lastly, on the purely personal side, there is absolutely nothing about that outfit that doesn't look amazingly comfy. Even if it meant peddling fish on a frozen street in pagan Novgorod, I wouldn't mind jumping right into his fur. At least not for a while.

Yeah... I was a bit lazy with the description this time... as I add more details to my drawings, the time to make them keeps getting longer. The tunic is a version of a Rus kaftan, and yes, it is very comfy. I have one that I made for myself. You also guessed the exact city I had in my mind when drawing this.

I've seen many pictures that inspired me to paint, some that inspired to write, but this would be the first one inspiring me to eat a smoked mackerel on an empty stomach before sleeping in an attempt to incubate dreams about being a people-shaped polecat in Novgorod. Let the experiment commence...

The odds were good, Novgorod was one of the largest Rus cities after Kiev. I don't know how much experience you have in making clothing, but many patterns from this period are pretty simple. Hehe, good luck with the experiment.
