How much would it be to get one of these sculptures?

If memory serves I only fought one of these during the times I played D&D with my parents and sister

The displacer was one of my favourite enemies from the d&d: shadow over mystara I love how dark yet cute and bouncy you made it look

Cool! That creature is so strange, but I loved it, always wanted to see one in a movie, animated and in motion or so - but this is wonderful, too I like the structure of the neck and the tension in the shoulders

I greatly admire that it doesn't at all resemble a horse, hehe. You succeed in not falling into the trap that so many species-focused artists get caught in.

I don't really consider myself a species-focused artist haha. If you look through my gallery you can see I have loaaads of different stuff. And a lot of what I do never even makes it to being photographed, a lot of human studies.
I know what you mean though, you see someone whose gallery is 99% horses and 1% a wolf that looks like a horse.

It looks so attentive, like it's being trained by an owner. Really cool!

wicked! I was always fond of the displacer beast design - and done like this - with feline anatomy and not some of the overly gaunt weird design that was depicted more later. Nice work! Lovely statuette!

Yeah I looked into them beforehand (obviously lol) and the weird stringy ones were just not my thing

Wonderful job! Reminds me of one of the big cats I had to fight from Final Fantasy.

This is what they were based on. I think the original Final Fantasy pretty much was just DnD in a video game.

Ohh! I see, I guess that's why I thought that. Well, D7D and M&M and FF were all sort of similar games that came out around the same time, so I guess they just lent themselves to the popularity at the time. ^__^ Still it does look very nice. Indigo-Ocean is a gifted sculptor.

She's my biggest influence in deciding to take up sculpting myself, not that I get much chance to do it.

I know the feeling, I started sculpting a lot last year - got a TON of sculpting supplies for Christmas and haven't been back at it since as I've been to busy

I took up commission work shortly after developing a feel for sculpture but ended up so busy drawing and making accessories for other people I never worked on anything for myself.

I'm just starting to work on things for my own benefit again.

Yeah, me too, actually. I am a graphic artist professionally, but my true goal is to be a published novelist.... that's what I've been working at for years. Work gets in the way, so I have to cut back, too to do my own projects. It's hard to juggle that.

KiyaraSabel In reply to Graphix-Goddess [2013-02-02 23:22:17 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, one of the projects I want to make is a bunch of poseable maquettes I'll use to make key frames and storyboards for an animation project I want to make. I started a story when I was 12, originally was going to try and publish novels of the whole thing, but always thought it would be better as an animated series, and although it'll be a few years still before I make it to even the teaser stage, I feel like it's a more viable medium for the story.

We'll see if I redecide later because I still need to finish updating the old manuscripts to be more solid storytelling as well as adapting to a script.

Thanks, here's the tutorials I saw for simple poseable dolls.
