Last week my patrons requested me to illustrate the prompt: A character from my new book: Haven!

One of the three protagonists is Julian, the young prince whose life has been way harder than one can imagine at first. He is only twenty years old but has already taking upon himself a burden that seems impossible to carry: "no one else dies", he repeats to himself, as a mantra... and a way to justify everything he does to make sure that becomes true.

I tried to illustrate the darkness he is surrounded with in the portrait, but still with a strong sliver of light present. Those who have read the novel will understand it better, but I hope it insinuates something to those who have not.
