4x5 watersoluble pencil and watercolor painting for a 4x5 contest at school (which goes into the school district)......of monotremes!
Monotremes consist of two species: echidnas and platypuses. A monotreme is a mammal with the ability to lay eggs and feed milk to its offspring. Both species have bird-like beaks as well as fur. They are only found in Australia and enjoy having tea parties.
Speaking of Australia, why does Australia have all the spiffy animals? Seriously; they've got kangaroos, koala, kookaburras, Tasmanian devils, and monotremes! XD
I'm uploading this today because knowing my school, I might not get this back. I still have to get back a drawing from the beginning of the school year and they put my drawing in the library without telling me, despite telling everyone else who had their art displayed there. I rather like this one, so I really hope they actually return it! XD
Edit: it's now December 6, 2009 and I still haven't gotten this painting back *headdesk*
At least it got an honorable mention from the show
