With the recent awakening of the twins and Trevor's death, Acorn gets a call from his friend Randy reporting that Preston has not been acting the way he usually does. Now he's shutting himself away from his friends and even his very own girlfriend Gabriella Gordon. Noticing this behavior change got the thieves even more concerned which they thought was normal for him. As it turns out they all discovered Preston himself has a Palace. This made everyone concerned and Gabriella almost sobbing because she truly believed that he didn't, when the MetaNav proved her wrong.

Preston's Palace was a tomb based on the Japanese empire of the Kofun period. However, the first visit to this Palace was a scout where the first six Phantom Thieves entered the Palace to see what it looked like. After that, the rest of the OctoInk Alliance Phantom Thieves entered as well, with the two recently recruited Charm and Hex. The Phantom Thieves of Friends explored his Palace to see what was in store, but what they discovered was shocking and sad. Preston saw all the members of the OctoInk Alliance including the leaders of the Light Force, Phantom Squad, and Family of Friends... dead.

Making this situation worse Captain Tanith Jarvis has reached Commander rank, thus also learning that Preston has a Palace. He called his client to discover this Palace to see what to do with Preston to maybe take out the weakest link to the Alliance. However, one of the soldiers saw this and since he was given the information about the real intention of the Phantom Thieves, knew there needed to be something done with this. So, Sargent Jason Bryce, a friend of Darkrail and Avery called up Avery herself to warn the Thieves that Division-1 is monitoring Preston's Palace. Now not only do the Thieves have to change Preston's heart, but they also need to make sure Preston doesn't have a Mental Shutdown as Trevor did.

Something they also didn't know was that Preston kept away from the rest of the group as he had an older brother and Preston himself was the youngest. His brother was named Asher White, who had a menacing scare on everyone else that nobody else knew what his true colors were and that he always did some very abusive conflict on Preston. Some of the times in the Palace were also met with a menacing and ferocious oni who plagued the Palace with darkness. All that was left was Preston's Shadow and a lost spirit roaming the land wondering if this place will be restored to its peaceful state again.

Here's the breaking point, with finding a room for Shadow Preston to rest, Destiny was left in the Metaverse to find out the real truth behind the Spirit. Once the rest of the thieves sent the calling card to Preston, Julia requested to enter the Palace with the Thieves. Once they got to where the Treasure was, they found that Preston has the Meta-Nav on his phone and he entered his own Palace. Destiny who knew the truth behind the spirit who they were helping, reported that that spirit wasn't lost. He was in fact a spirit of Asher White himself. He tricked the Phantom Thieves, showing false kindness to them as they made their way to the Treasure. Luckily Julia and Preston himself awakened their personas in Preston's own Palace. After the fight, Preston was lucky he didn't get his mind shutdown by that Black Mask, gaining the courage he needed from the start.
