I like this the best of the three - the sweep of the road gives the eye somewhere to go, to follow, with a hint of the town nestled in the foothills in the distance.
Reminds me very much of the South African Karoo, which is a semi-desert, and very arid - and flat, with little town nestled into the hills every few hundred kilometers.
