That's one of the problems with poser, you can get the morphs to look really good from one angle, but as soon as you move the face or change the lighting the resemblance can disappear.(The character looks great from the side or full face, honest

I use poser 7 mostly with paintshop pro 9 for postwork.
If you want to have a go, there's an excellent free program that does pretty much the same thing as poser (plus, it'll take all the same models as poser.) It's DAZ studio and you can get it from [link]
There's tons of freebies, plus I run a 3d art group on livejournal where you can find even more freestuff and advice etc.
