It's a cold morning in the endless desert of the border world.
No sound is heard. Only the wind shifting the mountains of sand one grain at a time.
The complete silence is broken by a thumping noise. In fact two different sounds of large metallic feet hitting the sand.
One sound being faster and more graceful as the light machine pushes itself over the desert waves.
The other a much slower rumbling sound. As weight is shifted from foot to foot and pressed deep into the sand as the huge behemoth struggles to gain traction on the uneven and shifting terrain under its feet.
The morning hunters pass as they look for any sort of activity in the vicinity.
If the rumors are true. And a Star league base exists here under these sands.
Then the Falcons don't want their perimeters breached. And have unwanted visitors looking about.
As the two mechs pass and the thumping of their feet distances itself until finally disappearing into the sound of the wind.
Their tracks slowly fade as the sands move. And it is once again a quiet morning. No sign of any life. Or of the killing machines that just passed by. Like desert ghosts, disappearing without a sigh they were ever here.
