Diverse sexualities and gender expressions are very important to both me and FellowAdventurers so of course you can guess that we’re writing our beloved comic Ghost Junk Sickness to reflect that! We’re always trying to be more inclusive and constantly questioning our standards of the genre to help make a better, more realistic feeling story!

So I discovered GJS maybe a week and a half ago and have fallen so deeply in love I've reread it at least five times since then. (as well as. looked up your tumblrs and deviantArts Because The Art Is Good and I love looking at messy concept stuff.) I've never gotten hooked on anything so fast in my life, nor have I been able to really connect with characters all that much.
I can see so much of myself in Vahn it hurts. Everything from the anxiety, insomnia, chronic pains, and reliance on a specific person to the goofy naivety and the pronouns oh my god, it's all familiar. And this picture in particular, I cry every time I look at it. Because Vahn's wearing a shirt with my orientation on it. It's like breathing air for the first time. It feels like solid proof that I can exist, like if a complete stranger can think up an ace spectrum nb character then it can't all be in my head, it's not all made up. And it's not just me! I can see my sibling, I can see my closest friends, I can point to each character in turn and say I know someone like that. We're all here. We're all real. Here's proof.
This is getting longer than I meant it to be but I just wanted to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for, well, everything. Thank you for making Ghost Junk Sickness, thank you for breathing life into characters like Vahn and Boggmouth, thank you for the casual use of they/them, thank you for the pages I haven't even seen yet and thank you for each time Trigger gets to catch a break please give my trash son a nap and a sandwich. I'm going to make fanart as soon as finals week gives me time.

Oh my gosh, your message made me cry in all the best ways!! THIS kind of response is what makes it all worth while, this kind of response is what keeps a fire under us and keeps us going! People like you who connect with our story and can feel it so deeply are our beacon of light when we're feeling down about the project, thank you, thank you so much! We couldn't be more humbled that you shared this with us and we appreciate that so so much, we really do! We try really hard to write realistic characters, even if they're living in a sci-fi world what needs to be the most REAL is the characters and their narratives, and to know that we accomplished that? There's no bigger compliment!
Ghost Junk Sickness won't always be an easy read, as you know already there are some dark paths it goes down, but know that we're always writing this with hope in the end! There's always a chance for redemption and renewal, we really don't like making totally bleak stories so even if things look pretty bad, there's always something good at the end of it :') It's a rocky road ahead for Vahn and Trigger but there will be breaks for them and growth and change.
