My entry for the contest held by : [link]

This is a collage of four fractals representing the four seasons. I tryed to represent spring and autumn with more soft colours and a wider range of hues; summer and winter with sharper lines and different shades of a couple of colours at most in each fractal. This was done to give the idea of a weather more polarized toward the two oppsite extremes (hot/cold) in the last two seasons, opposed to a mild weather during spring and autumn.

Spring: new green, clear skies, fresh air, coloured flowers blooming
Summer: sunsets, hot weather, nature in full bloom
Autumn: last greens, trees on fire, leaves carried by the wind
Winter: cold weather, ice, clouded skies, less chances to stay outside
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

See the four fractals separately here:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

All four fractals were made with Apophysis 2.08 beta 2
Plugins used:
's Epispiral plugin
/ 's Polar2 plugin
's Squarical plugin
's Truchet plugin

Minor adjustments on two of the fractals (sharpness and/or noise and/or lighting) made in Paint.net.

The pieces were assembled together with Gimp 2.

Also, I apologize for the crappy explanation. Pretty tired here.

Will upload the four fractals separately later.

Hello! Just wanted to drop you a note and say that I thought your entry was better than the winners. But hey, I guess everyone has their own opinions.

Why thanks, dear!
I had to giggle at that, 'cause I was sure you were going to win! I think the way you chose to represent and differentiate the various seasons was the most original of all the entries, and I fell in love with it!
But indeed, everyone sees things in their personal way.

Aww, thanks for your kind words!

I try to be original (I don't always succeed, but I do try) but that doesn't always translate into popular.

All the colors and shapes perfectly fit their seasons super well. Personally, my favorite one is the Autumn fractal (and coincidentally, Autumn is also my favorite season)!

Amazing work you did there, Katia!

Thanks a lot!

Autumn was going to be a bit different at first. It didn't have those little coloured "comets". Then I decided to give the Squarical plugin a go, and I definitely find it more fitting, now!
