Hello, i decided to do a tutorial because i scored these awesome platform sneakers at burlington today for $6.00!!!

allow me to go into more detail with the tutorial:
1. Begin with clean shoes. remove laces, you can use dark colored shoes but that requires extra steps and a lot more paint, so this tutorial is really only appropriate for white or very light colored shoes. Canvas or fabric works best as it absorbs the paint really well. Leather or plastic shoes would not be revamped in this manner.
2. select your colors, i always use fabric paints so i dont have to worry about sealants later on. you can use acrylic but you would need a sealing spray at the end to ensure waterproofing. for these shoes i chose glow in the dark teal and glow in the dark purple at michaels for $4 each. I also had to pick up more paintbrushes haha.
3. I always use white synthetic nylon paintbrushes for everything. I recommend them for just about anything except oil painting (which does not even apply here so yeah haha)
4. squirt the fabric paint onto the desired area, i never tape off sections of my shoe because i have a pretty steady hand. if you dont you can use masking tape to mark off the shoe so you dont mess up. Use a paintbrush, i used the 3/8" size for this project, spread the paint around the area until completely covered. allow to dry until paint is not very tacky (approx 20 minutes?)
5. once paint is only slightly tacky, apply another layer in the same manner. Repeat this process until you are satisfied with the color.

7. replace laces and enjoy. do not wash for expose to water for at least 72 hours!
