First off, I'd like to say that this is the first critique I will be writing using the critique-function. Please bear with me, I usually use the comment-section for this. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a… " width="19" height="19" alt="
First of all, Pachirisu: cute! I also read in your artist's comment that you had =Kikariz ' style in mind when drawing this and it shows especially with some parts of the shading and the background.
The shading of the body, specifically the belly and left-leg (left for us) looks amazing because of that little line of light that you added directly next to the line-art. However, the shading on the rest of the body is a bit all over the place, a thing I've also noticed in some of your other drawings. It looks smooth and terrific in some places (the belly) and a bit blotchy and odd at other places (like the tail). I would suggest trying to shade more according to the shape of the tail, following that beautiful curve instead of shading all over and thus giving it a bit of a flat appearance.
As far as the line-art itself goes: it looks like you hesitated when drawing the lines in some places, for instance with the chin and the lower curve of the tail. I would suggest drawing them in one long stroke and even working with vector-strokes to adjust the curve when needed to smooth those little bumps out. However, this is just a minor point of criticism and it's something that'll certainly come when practicing and drawing more.
As far as the background goes: I'm loving the bokeh and the very muted colors to add a softer background behind the Pachirisu. I also like how you used the reflection of your main drawing to tie it in with the background more. However, I feel like grey or even a dark brown line-art may have worked even better to integrate the drawing with the background. At the moment the very bold black lines draw the attention and disconnect the background a bit from the main subject. Also, even a tiny shadow could help give a better felling of where the ground starts.
All in all, this is quite a good drawing, it just needs a little bit of tweaking on the points I mentioned. I'm also loving the fact that you are improving your style compared to your previous drawings, so keep up the good work! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="

I wasn't really sure about the shading on the tail because I didn't draw the tail correctly in the first place :U

I didn't notice the fact that you didn't draw the tail correctly, so don't fret it! As far as the shading goes, I'd say just follow your gut-instinct. What can also help is trying to identify the light source first, it'll be easier to draw in the shadows and highlights that way. Although I have to admit that I struggle with that too.

Been so long since I've seen any of the newer Pokemon, I can't keep up with it all now. My son was 6 when he started collecting cards, then we taught him to battle and used to go to tournaments. It was fun
