Description [Click Here to Install]

A Re-Upload from my !Commander-Luminaire account. What it does is create a larger preview of any Deviation that you hover over.

You will need Firefox and Greasemonkey.

This script may or may not be compatible with Google Chrome. It is not tested and is not guaranteed to work.

New in version 0.10 alpha
- Finally fixed the bug that caused people with numbers in their names' deviations to not display.
- new details pane that stays with the screen.
- new configuration dialogue.
- some new effects.
- entire thing was rebuilt from the ground up, with some reused code from the previous version but mainly rebuilt.

Known Bugs
Preview sometimes doesn't appear in the right spot.
Film deviations may not show a preview window at all.

ohhhh so that's why it displays some of the earliest deviations sometimes... the numbers in the name bug. Time for me to update

the words "freakin'" and "awesome" sum this up nicely...incredibly useful for lit.

I'm glad, I don't usually view literature deviations of any kind, but I was hoping the implementation would work for people who do.
I just need to get it to work on the whole block of literature, instead of the little image on the left side

Thanks

I don't mind having the little preview, personally--it loads faster (okay, not that lit takes so long) and it's the same thing dA itself provides.

SparkLum In reply to neurotype-on-discord [2011-05-24 03:29:16 +0000 UTC]

Well I don't mean to get rid of the little preview, it's just that the script will only show up when you hover over the lit tag itself, and not the block of text.

neurotype-on-discord In reply to SparkLum [2011-05-24 03:33:16 +0000 UTC]

ahhh...I know img.lit defines the author tag, q defines the written area, and a.lit covers the whole thing, if that helps any

Indeed, I need to look into it more. That and video deviations cause it ignores those XD

I saw that note above that you have no intention to update it, but if I started crying... ...would you consider working up a script like this for Chrome?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkLum In reply to exarobibliologist [2011-02-11 04:52:22 +0000 UTC]

Actually, the script should work more or less on Chrome. The only thing is that it's CSS defines -moz-border-radius which Chrome ignores. Otherwise, the script should work. I know older versions of it worked quite well

namenotrequired [2011-02-09 19:01:21 +0000 UTC]

I've featured this as Daily Feature on the front page of #deviantART-Related

#deviantART-Related is the unofficial group for the dA related gallery, and our Daily Feature is a private initiative to serve as an alternative to DDs while there's no GM for the gallery

We featured your script for today with the following description;
devViewer v0.9 Alpha by *SparkLum makes it easier to see from the thumb whether you'll be interested in the deviation or not. Hoover over a thumb to see a larger version, see whether critique is requested and if a print is available, and get quick links to share the piece immediately.

Note that it might not work properly everywhere anymore, since it hasn't been updated lately - but I wanted to feature it anyway because it's still really useful where it works.

Welcome

Yes you do One thing, when you hoover over a thumb of someone with a username with a number in it, it showed the deviation with that thumb number instead (say, I hoover over a deviation by `Gwendolyn12 and it shows [link] )

Emotikonz [2010-12-28 04:49:05 +0000 UTC]

If you ARE updating, may I suggest providing a :thumb: code feature as well? For those using the related mod.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkLum In reply to Emotikonz [2010-12-31 07:47:23 +0000 UTC]

It should have a thumbcode feature already

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Emotikonz In reply to SparkLum [2010-12-31 07:50:42 +0000 UTC]

Not in the preview, it doesn't

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkLum In reply to Emotikonz [2010-12-31 07:57:50 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah. That's because if you go to copy it, and hover over the Right-click menu, the box goes away, and you cannot copy it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Emotikonz In reply to SparkLum [2010-12-31 09:46:28 +0000 UTC]

....if you can't copy the :thumb:, why would you even HAVE it...? DIABOLICAL.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkLum In reply to Emotikonz [2010-12-31 10:10:08 +0000 UTC]

You can in the Share box. The Share box is persistent

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Emotikonz In reply to SparkLum [2010-12-31 11:35:23 +0000 UTC]

But if you are browsing someone's (or your own) gallery for thumbs in news or whatever, you don't want to have to load all their individual pages.

As much as I'd love devViewer, I like :thumb: codes more sorry

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkLum In reply to Emotikonz [2011-01-01 03:24:02 +0000 UTC]

Well it's primary purpose isn't a thumb collection utility, it's a window to display more information about a deviation.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

britegreenfish [2010-12-27 11:46:16 +0000 UTC]

It works, it's awesome and useful, thank you

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Nironan12 [2010-12-26 22:15:57 +0000 UTC]

UPDATE IT GOD DAMMIT!

  • It seems to load on the front page but anywhere else it's stuck in loading.

  • When selecting (more) it will jump to the top of the page

  • Should not load deviations smaller than 150x150

  • Should load the original deviation, NOT the preview

  • Customizable hover size

  • Smoother transitions

  • That's all I can think of

    👍: 0 ⏩: 1

    SparkLum In reply to Nironan12 [2010-12-31 07:39:18 +0000 UTC]

Why not load deviations smaller than 150x150? It gives extended information on any hovered deviation.

If it loads the original deviation instead of the preview, it will cause way too much lag.

Customizable hover size is something to consider though.

Smoother transitions? It's pretty smooth on my computer, maybe it's just yours?

It *might* but not as well. You're welcome to give it a shot. I know one of the previous versions did, but it's been too long since I worked on this script. One day I'll remake it, but I couldn't give you a date when
