Teenage incarnations of Sam, Riley, Rina, and introducing Marcus.Sam and Rina have been friends since Sam was in middle school, and they'd jam together.
Sam fell into peer pressure and bad influence in high school, thanks to Riley and Marcus and eventually dropped out all together. The four teens formed a band, but Rina quit early on. Let's just say that she didn't quite fit in with the band's punk image, and she couldn't stand Riley or Marcus, nor what Sam was becoming. ...it was a dark period.
It's all a work in progress. Marcus and Riley fall into heavy drug and alcohol usage at this time. Sam wound up being peer pressured into alcohol, but wouldn't touch any drug that wasn't weed.
Sam dyed his hair black as a teenager, as well as his tail and eyebrows. He was embarrassed by his naturally pink hair and was sick of getting flack for having a "girly color".
Riley and Marcus had a tumultuous romance, too. Both sides had their toxicities, and drugs only made things worse.

Yeah, Riley and Marcus's backstories are still a WIP, but things aren't good for them. Sam actually had a good life growing up, but he's going through a rebellious phase.
