I like very much your use of shadows, but a little more contrast would be awesome on this one. Don't be afraid of strong contrasts with pencil, they do nice on most drawings.
I feel the eyes are a bit unbalanced, being the left one higher than the right one. Ears have a similar issue. I understand is a half/half character representation, but simetry would make this more awesome

Thank you for your critique. It was very insightful.
You are correct, I could have created more contrast with highlight & shadow.
However, though the characters have or had similar looks (Andy Whitfield has passed on), their features are very different. To have made their facial features symmetrical would have taken away their physical differences and would have made the two actors -in my opinion- interchangeable. And by that I mean it would not have mattered who played the role of Spartacus.
