HI, I followed your tutorial because it's been years since I stopped crocheting.
I did find out that after 5 rows my circle will be all wobbly. It won't stay flat. And it kinda looks like it's folding up into a flowerish shape thingamajig.
Do you know where it goes wrong?

crochet twice in the loop then crochet twice in the next loop in the same round. Hope this helps.

Im new at this..so excuse my newbishness lol but what do you mean when you say two single stiches into one single stich...
Im trying to make a lady bug for my friend and it is made by making pretty much a bunch of circles...and its hard to learn....^^

No prob. You crochet twice in one stitch. It increases the stitches around. So if you have 12 stitches around and you increase by crocheting twice in each stitch then you would get 24 stitches around.

Oh man, I was doing good with your tutorials up until this part... I'm so lost and frustrated I'm ready to hand in my hook and yarn. *fumes* How am I supposed to do 6 single stitches in the second chain from the hook? I really need help, pleeease. D:

You are making a ring around the second stitch. Its kind of hard to explain without showing someone personally. This link might help. [link]

Hi i'm a beginner in crocheting.I tried this steps lotsa time but failed.I made two chain stitch then made two singele stitch..how am i going to do 6 chain stitch if i only have two chain stitch?

Sparrow-dream In reply to reflector-of-light [2008-05-26 18:29:46 +0000 UTC]
You make 6 stitches in the last chain from your hook. That way you can make a circle. You can also try the adjustable ring method. The computer I'm using is slow so I can't find the link, but try googling "crochet magic adjustable ring"

Do you slip stitch after every round?

Eee.. once you connect them.
Posted too quickly.
I guess I'll have to try it.
In my mind it seems like it'd make a lopsided oval.

It should make a circular ring. I found another version of the adjustable ring ---> [link]
But in the link they double stitch around. After step 6 chain one and then single crochet around the ring. I think that is how I do it.

Erm.. I don't get this.
You make two chains, then just keep stitching onto the second one?
That will make a circle? (Ring, whatever.)

Sparrow-dream In reply to FaerytaleMalice [2007-11-29 06:49:13 +0000 UTC]
You make two chains and then start single crocheting around the first chain you made. Or you can use this tutorial ---> [link]
Its a different way to start the ring. I like it better since you an adjust the size, but I didn't include it in my tutorial since I didn't know if this technique was copyrighted or something.

Sometimes it just takes practice with the yarn tension and all. What's your hook size and yarn type you are using? There are also some video tutorials floating around, but most of them are shaky or blurry so I can't recommend anything.

thanks for the tutorial, i always have trouble crocheting in rounds. Maybe 'cause i haven't practiced it much.
I think you should make either a cat or rabbit tutorial

I didn't put the dragon on the list since I didn't write down the pattern. Its also complicated to explain for beginners.
