As the Battle of Crait continue on the planet of Crait, the Millennium Falcon also draws the TIE fighters away, soon after the remaining V-4X-D Ski Speeders approach the Superlaser Siege Cannon, which begins powering up, and they were now within range of the AT-ATs and AT-M6s blasters. Poe thinks it is a suicide mission and orders remaining Ski Speeders retreat, but Finn is determined to take out the cannon.

Before Finn could sacrifice himself to destroy the Battering Ram Cannon, Rose stops Finn from doing this ramming her speeder into his. Somehow, they both survived that. (The only way I can think is Plot Armor.) Shortly after Superlaser Siege Cannon then blasts a hole in the fortress. Poe and the remaining pilots retreat into the trenches with the surviving soldiers.

Inside the base things aren't much better as Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix informs Commander Larma D'Acy that the Resistance broadcast has reached multiple points but that they have received no response. General Leia Organa sadden when she hears this because it means that the galaxy has lost hope.

The Superlaser Siege Cannon or Battering Ram Cannon was a heavy artillery weapon deployed by the First Order, capable of penetrating enemy defenses. The Superlaser Siege Cannon was a piece of miniaturized Death Star technology powered by Kyber Crystals and capable of firing a devastating energy pulse along a targeting tracer beam to cause a powerful detonation upon impact.
