Description First photoshop painting I did, back in art school. I was messing around with photoshop's paint features, and created a cheesy sunset sky effect. A fellow student happened by, and declared that I should paint a dragon in the scene......it just inspired them to see that, I guess. So a few scanned pencil outlines and a bunch of hours later, this was the result.

No, not working yet, but I am going back for some 3D animation training, and your english is great! Not sure why it's not in so many favourites, but that's okay..........my audience doesn't have to be large or small........just happy.

I love and like it! >_< Why it hasn't got many favourites? It's the better draw that I saw in a lot of time >_<

Are you working for any company?

(>_< sorry for my bad english)

Beautiful colors and amazing amount of details. My hat really goes out for you. ItΒ΄s difficult to belive that this was your first digipainting, itΒ΄s just so good. May I ask how big the canvas was, the clouds and mountains look so detailed, it must have been pretty huge?

Thanks titta..........I appreciate the kind words. The original digital image was about 5000 pixels or so wide, so needless to say, I was definitely painting stuff at an almost sub-atomic level! When I saw how deep a person could go in terms of painting in photoshop, I was amazed at just how detailed you could get. Trouble is, that sort of working tends to drag on too long to be profitable, I figure........I honestly don't know how many hours I spent on it, but I know it was too long to be useful in the world of deadlines. Fortunately, I've learned how to make some concessions and do a few shortcuts that helped me streamline the process on later pieces.

To be fair, I did have a lot of self-taught experience with oils, pencils, and pencil crayons prior to my introduction to Photoshop..........fortunately, I never really had too much of a problem translating that to the digital medium. If anything, I found that working in photoshop afforded me a lot of shortcuts in terms of not having to wait for washes or parts of the painting to dry so I could do the next step. I know some folks have a hard time working with the tablets and pens, but it wasn't an issue for me at all. In a way, it was a pretty smooth transition. Sometimes, it's so convenient that it almost feels like cheating...........almost.

I know what you are saying. When I do a picture about that size, it takes ages to finish it. Partially because the process is so long that I get bored with it, and leave the picture hanging until I finish it possibly some months later.

Yeah, that's been an issue with me from time to time as well...........I've been getting better with my discipline, but sometimes the process drags you down. Bleh. In times like that, coffee tends to be my friend.
