Open HeartAnd so I left it open,
Left it open as a book,
And you came upon it curiously,
You thought to take a look,
But what you saw, it scared you,
And what you read, you feared,
Soon you were worried,
And away from me you veered.
And then it was closed,
The book lay cover up,
And You came upon it,
And thought to take a look,
But I didn't want to show you,
Still you made your way inside,
And though I told you,
Even though I cried,
And then you left the book there,
All torn and beaten down,
You left the work of art there,
Tattered on the ground.
And then he came upon it,
And he let these monsters out,
He waited patiently,
And listened to me scream and shout,
His arms he took me into,
His shoulders took my tears,
And he absorbed the pain,
That I've felt for all these years.
He picked up that book,
That lay tattered on the ground,
He retyped the pages,
And in the bindings found,
A long soul, that was all alone,
Taking my hand he led me,
Back to my cold shell,
And with a kiss he helped me,
He helped me up when I fell.
But then he left,
He left too,
And I'll be waiting here,
Just waiting here,
For you.
