I have a sort of love/hate relationship with record players. There's just something about listening to albums that I love... But at the same time, I hate having to flip them over after 5 tracks. =x

Oh this just works. I love the use of black and white, the appearance of film grain, the shallow depth of field, the slow shutter speed accentuating the spinning record. I could go on and on. But I'm busy. So I'll just say you've well and truly earned a

Absolutely my pleasure. I do so because sometimes it can actually help the artist know what I think is right and wrong; I'm not a fan of single-word (or emoticon) critiques -- unless someone were to offer me "Perfect" on one of my deviations!

It's amazing what proper lighting can do for a photograph...even one of a record player. That and the fact that the record is playing makes this appear like a very lively inanimate object....I can see why this is your feature.

This is such a great vintage/classic shot. The black and white really works great to this effect. I really like that we can actually see the record spinning. Often when people take shots like this, they take it while the record is stopped. The way you've done it, it's almost as if we can actually hear the melody playing.

Yeah, that's the thing about record player photos; so many people have done them before... I was really trying to come up with something that wasn't so contrived or .. I don't even know. But I'm glad you like it.
