Description
Sheol Nugganoth was a malevolent trickster god worshiped on Earth during the Hyperborean Age, particularly in Meropis. When Meropis fell, his cult began to diminish, causing his powers to fade. He decided instead to reestablish himself on Counter-Earth, acting as a patron to dark sorcerers on Clarion and its moons.

Sheol Nugganoth, if you'll recall, was evoked by King Errod in a spell during the Barbarian Apex Society storyline. The name was taken from a single mention in the works of Lord Dunsany, where he was described as a god nearly forgotten even in the Land of Dreams. I selected it due to its similarity to the name of the Great Old One Shub-Niggurath (and Lovecraft being a huge Dunsany fanboy, this was probably not a coincidence). Errod in the aforementioned Apex Society story was designed as a mix between Elric of Melniboné and David Bowie, which gave me the idea to model Sheol Nugganoth himself on Jereth the Goblin King - Bowie's character from the movie Labyrinth.
