I'm just going to give a short kind of explaination, this redesign or head canon is for my next gen universe
Luna is my second favorite alicorn in the show, my first being Cadance. So I kind of snapped with this drawing, in my opinion.
Luna and Celestia come from a kind of Asian decent, but Luna really does honor a lot of asian traditions and customs. She also takes the Lunar New Year very seriously, and uses honor and family as an important policy.
Luna's eyes are red because, in my AU, her eyes turned red after she turned into Nightmare Moon.
Luna is the most beautiful, in most of the ponies of Equestria's opinions, in all of Equestria. Her hair is thick, her eye lashes are very lucious, and she actually does have a very nice smile.
Luna prefered not to be married, and she definately didn't want children. Well, that didn't last long. She had her first son, Moonlighter, with Trenderhoof. Trenderhoof promptly left, fairly quickly too. After that, I'd say a year or two later, she got married to a random noble named Faene vonVarley.
The princess of the night loves sweets more than any other pony in Equestria.
