Description The Atropiscidea clade includes species that show slight sexual dimorphism. Males and females have minor distinct characteristics. Females are all black and dull, while males have a very pronounced coloration on the edges of their fins and are able to emit light with luminous organs located on the head and the snout. The snout's organ emits beautiful elaborated pulsating light. They are creatures that live in small groups and that feed on small invertebrates. Their long snout allows them to dislodge their prey in small crevasses and other tight spots.
