Description Inspired by tonite's new Superjail! episode, I just HAD to do this adorable little drawing (since we didn't actually get to see Baby Warden).

Isn't he just the fweeeeetest!! He's kinda a widdle chubbers! ^_^ Aww, widdle baby Warden so kyoot!

I did this in about ten minutes and the coloring was pretty rushed, but I just had to be the first one to do this idea

The title of the episode, by the way, is "Mr. Grumpy-pants," so since he's a baby, well, you can guess where I came up with the name for this one ^^ lol

I wish the episode would have given this version of the warden. It would have been pretty interesting too see what the staff and nor the inmates would have done with a infant warden.Β

Uh...actually, you do get to see the Warden as an infant in the last episode, Time Police 2, and your drawing is actually spot-on. except he didn't wear the hat when he was a baby...But perfect.

S'anks! ^^ Funny, thing... I just watched the 'Dream Machine,' ep. and there IS a baby Warden in THAT episode that looks pretty close to mine I wasn't too far off the mark.

I would really have loved to see baby Warden. 8D
And jeez!! That inner demon child was freaky!! It just exploded out of him!

And he totally wasn't expecting that either. It put him into a comatose state. (lol) The part where the raccoons are gnawing on his head afterward, that was funny. ^^

D'aww, what a cute thing to see first thing in the morning! I was wondering what the Warden might look like if he turned into a baby like the others in that episode.

Geez, the Warden's 'dark' inner child was like something out of Hellraiser movie. I noticed something too; once that thing was out and on its own, the Warden had no control or say for it. It was pretty much calling all the shots. I just find that interesting, like the Warden can lose control over his own psyche when under the right conditions.

That's kind of what I thought, too. I thought it was interesting, though-- The Warden always seems so in control of everyone and everything else, like he's the puppet-master pulling the strings (even when he's pulling some insane scheme that goes wrong, and even when those twins are reeking havoc he still retains this degree of coolness), so when he lost it, it was... I don't know, just pretty darn amusing ^^ I thought it was neat to see that side of him. Then again I try not to delve too much into the psychological and philosophical side of Superjail!-- To me it's just an awesomely insane and fun show not to take too seriously, and the Warden is just an awesome, insane (and dead sexy ^_-) character. T'was freaky, though, cause that was one meeeeean little motherfuckindemon-thing that came out of him! lol But yeah, I still wish we'd got to see Baby Warden (at least we DID get to see Baby Alice ^^)

True, Superjail does seem like a show that isn't meant to be taken seriously. But still, I feel like there's this thin, underlining layer of real character to the characters, you know what I mean? It leaves it open for new and more interesting plots to explore.

Heh, I find the Warden more 'cute' then 'sexy'. Overall, he's like a big kid with way too much power. However, in that new episode, it shows he's all too aware of his 'age'. I'm guessing he's gotta be in his late 30s or around that range. That's around the time a person would hit the dreaded 'midlife crisis'.

Spectra22 In reply to roguestar [2008-11-24 10:18:53 +0000 UTC]

I get that. I mean as the show progresses, and you get to see deeper into the characters' personalities, you of course are going to think of them in a certain way and read deeper into their character, even in a show as crazy and purely fun as Superjail! and when they do something that sort of contradicts that established norm (like in this episode), it does make you think a little. I'm not saying there's NO depth at all to Superjail!-- especially when it comes to the characters, who I find are all very interesting and likable in their own ways. And I AM guilty of this, too-- I admit I felt the same way after watching this one. And after new episodes I might say, "Oh, so now I know THIS about the Warden (or whoever-- but mostly the Warden cause he's my fave ^^)... very interesting," and my view of them becomes more complex and I end up liking them more. My problem (and I wasn't accusing you of this at ALL, I promise-- I just want to mention this a bit cause it's been on my mind) is when people want to turn a show that's as easygoing and nonsensical and such complete psychadelic fun-ness as Superjail! into a drama. It seems some people love to infuse everything they see with this intense, unecessary SERIOUSNESS-- they'll latch onto the smallest details and blow them SO out of proportion. Even now there's probably a fanfic or something out there that someone who saw this ep. wrote that makes the Warden into a suicidally depressed, angsty basket-case just cause he was a little out of it in this one. And that's OKAY I suppose-- I mean ANY fandom is good fandom, I think, as long as people are interested-- but why do people want to change certain things SO badly? If all they're interested in is drama, then why do they even get INTO a show like this? I really don't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers here, cause I honestly believe 'to each their own,' but still, and I quote, "why so serious?" And putting the drama into non-dramatic shows isn't in-and-of-itself bad, but then you get the "Pairing Wars" and shit like that starting amongst the fans, and instead of people coming together to enjoy something they love, you get people who hate each other because someone doesn't like someone else's prefered Warden/Jared or Jared/Alice or Warden/whoever coupling. And they honestly MEAN it-- they really HATE each other! I've seen this happen with Invader Zim and it really is sad that they will say these things because of a CARTOON. Yes, Zim and Superjail! are awesome cartoons, but they're still just cartoons. I just cannot understand how people can be so insane I only pray the same thing doesn't happen to Superjail! that happened with Invader Zim where you get the fans ready to start WWIII with each other. Yes, most fans are cool and have a 'live and let live' attitude, but there are some people that I really think, if they knew where you lived, you'd be fucked. I just gotta shake my head sometimes and go "WTF PEOPLE!?"
Sorry, but I really needed to get that off my chest I CERTAINLY wasn't directing all this at you, rougestar, as you seem very cool and intelligent about the subject, and I didn't mean to dump all this here, but I didn't know where else to vent and it seemed like you could understand what I'm talking about. But I feel better now Thanks for letting me rant.
Also... okay, I admit, I did say the Warden was "dead sexy" ^^ but I didn't really mean that as a physical thing-- I just want to be clear to anyone who thinks I'm nothing more than a drooling psycho-fangirl. For me his personality and over-the-top expressiveness is what I find sexy, and when I use the word I just mean 'lain and freaking awesome.' Though, he IS totally adorable ^-^ I'd love to ruffle that fuzzy hair of his lol

It's all good, I feel the need to rant at times too. And I have to agree with you, sometimes people add a little too much drama to non-drama things.

However, in terms of good storytelling (not with what you just talked about), sometimes a dash of drama along with humor can make a interesting, more balanced out story, depending on the situation. This can work with fanfiction and fanart, but like you said, most of the time people overdo it. It's hard to balance out much two extremes but when done right, it can make a great story.

I admit, I think I've been guilty of adding too much drama to fanfiction and fanart (when I had tome for it, I mean ),but I also think it depends on the person too. I've talked to people who thought that adding any form of drama was too much, but I've seen and read a lot worst. It's all about balance.

Oh, and about the Warden; I love that crazy bastard! <3 I agree with you, I don't find him 'sexy', I find him more 'cute' then anything. I also have a thing for the color purple. I just wanna hug him, and maybe poke that little pudge of his. (Don't ask me how I know this) *dies of embarrassment*

I thought that "inner demon-child" counted for him? lol

There wasn't enough Jared or Jailbot in this ep though

I think that inner demon-child was like the dark side of the Warden. He's got like a bizarre split personalty thing going on, so maybe that demon was just part of his true nature.
