I decided to do a study in jeans for a better understanding of how cloth folds. Depending on the material, the length, and the cut, there are many different ways a pair of jeans can crumple-- I decided to study photos of straight-cut and slim-fit jeans from a few different angles.Related content

Such beautiful jeans! drawing jeans has always been my favorite part of drawing people. I still have a lot to learn about how it folds and properly looks though.

As unbelievably amazing as these are, I'm afraid that the material doesn't look like denim. They're shiny and look as though they are made of something plastic-like or what a futuristic spacesuit might be made of. I'm not trying to say that this isn't a GREAT collection of drawings- (it is!), but the material (to me) doesn't look like blue jean material. Your understanding of the way that clothing is shaped and draped is fantastic though!

Ah, sorry-- misleading title. Most of these were actually drawn from other varieties, not blue denim. You're right though, this was primarily a study of cloth folding and I somewhat stupidly implied it was about the material

Thanks for not being offended. As your goal was the way clothing folds/wrinkles/drapes, you succeeded 100%. I have lots of trouble with those very things myself, so I will study this drawing seriously. O.O *stares*
