even if I don't like that guy at all, I'd say 2011 looks better. no clue why, maybe just because the light comes from another direction or so

This looks wonderful.Β The lines are soo crisp and clean.
I would love to know what you did to improve your pencil technique so that I myself can have a go at it.

Honestly, there's nothing specific I can point to-- as long as you try to make every new thing you draw better than the last, improvement will come naturally. I'd suggest getting a sketch set that includes a good range of hard and soft-leaded pencils; 8B for dark areas and at least a 2H for the light areas.

Thanks.
I think I'll change my pencil set. I dislike the ones I am currently using.
Thanks again for the advice

Your work appears to be more sharper. There's a lot more confidence evident, as well! I like it! Good job, buddy!

both look good. i like the new style more. Β at first, i didn't know it was done in pencil (i thought it was done in digital). Β it looks very sharp, smooth, and detailed. great improvement.

It would be cool, if you can't do them maybe you could make a realistic looking anthro character using pencils.

I love how you've pushed the darks and lights in the shading. It makes it so much more dynamic. This is something I've been working on in my own work as well. I also love the texturing on the turtleneck.

Weird as it sounds, I actually like the older one a bit better - however, that has absolutely nothing to do with your artwork's quality, which is absolutely beautiful.

The first one already looks so good. And now you improved much more! Very well done. Both pics. I have to say that I like the second one because of the contrast in it and the very good pencil technique. Both thumbs up for this

Oh dang, didn't even notice that-- I tried to make the wrinkles more subtle in the recent one, but I guess they were too light for the scanner to pick up, so... he gets an unintentional facelift!
