This is my first attempt at approaching the wild tokota since I started tracking her at the bottom of the mountain.I'm not sure she can see me, but she definitely knows i'm here.

Heheh, I feel you. I just submitted another toko for approval today, and I have one more already designed to submit. I totally suggest cruising the ads too and making some HP deals.

Mmm, right. After your adoption goes through it should be fine! You put your first toko design in a different approval line, too, than members with tokos already - but so long as you don't submit any of the other genos you obtain while your first gets processed it should be fine to start toko-collecting then!

Sure, you can! I typically have decent luck with the ads, too. If you tell me the sort of thing you're looking for I can keep an eye out.

Sorry to butt in, but I'd say hold off on getting any genos if you're dead set wanting the one from adoption.
If the admin in charge of the adoption sees you have bought a geno before the adoption went through, you might not get the one you wanted to adopt~
- You must be new to the group/own no tokotas/genos nor have any breedings coming in.
(I don't want to sound rude or anything, far from that)

It's no big deal! I'll let you know if I see anything. As you interact more with genos and stuff you'll start to be able to read them a bit more, too.
Something else helpful is if you go here and to the gallery and search for a combination of genos, it will crank out some tokos with those listed attributes. Like. If you put in cream piebald tundra, it'll show you some tokos with those things.
