I usually do these kind of posts on Reddit nowadays, but I knew this had to be one of the occasions where I do this kind of post. I finally have the Shin Japan Heores Universe Robot! For those who don't know, the Shin Japan Heroes Universe is either a marketing campaign or a new cinematic universe involving the movies Shin Godzilla (2016), Shin Evangelion (2021), Shin Ultraman (2022), and Shin Kamen Rider (2023) wherein Shin Godzilla, EVA-01, Shin Ultraman, and Shin Kamen Rider join forces, and are the Heroes of Japan. If you want this figure yourself, you may want to check how much money you are willing to spend, because this figure is NOT cheap. Approximately $350 on BigBadToyStore, and $170 on Amazon. If you were like me, I'd save up on Amazon gift cards for this figure. Now, here is a pros and cons list of the figure.
Pros:
1. On their own, Shin Ultraman, and EVA-01 are decent figures.
2. While confusing, the transformation can be satisfying.
3. When transformed, the Shin Japan Heroes Robot is very posable.
4. You don't have to worry about any limbs breaking off for Ultraman and EVA-01. You can take off the arms of both figures without anything breaking off ruining the figure forever (Still, I advise being as gentle as possible when doing so).
5. The figure(s) scales well with other Kaiju figures, S.H Monsterarts, NECA, HIYA, and Playmates.
Cons:
1. The price of this figure in the hundreds isn't worth it. Unless you have the money, I suggest saving up on gift cards for this figure.
2. When transformed, it is tricky for the Robot to stand up, as Shin Godzilla's tail can easily make the robot fall over.
3. When transforming, the bodies of EVA-01 and Shin Ultraman may not stay closed.
4. The Ball joint at the head of the robot is too short, so the Robot's head (And Shin Kamen Rider) fall off too easily.
While the figure is flawed, it can still be a nice addition to your collection. With this figure essentially being Shin Super Sentai (Power Rangers) if you like Godzilla, Ultraman, Evangelion, Kamen Rider, or Tokusatsu in general, you are going to love this.
