Description
This was a fun picture to draw, may I say… and a slightly interesting story on how I was inspired to draw it. I was just innocently doodling in my science class one day, when somehow I managed to say the word “Jip”. My science teacher kindly explained how he would not except foul language like that in his classroom. I kindly explained that I had no idea that the word “Jip” was in anyway profane. He then kindly explained that it was a derogatory term that’s a shortening of the word Gypsy, as Gypsies were believed to be thieves. That’s the only thing I learned in science that day. Needless to say, learning the word’s origin inspired me to do this cherry drawing of a gypsy wagon. The wagon is made out of interlocked rooms and can foldout into a gypsy fairground, at least that’s the way I envisioned it. I can just see it fall apart, things rising, things falling into place and transforming into an entire carnival.
