Description This is the piece I've been working on for like a week+ The struggle with the armor was real but it served its purpose. I learned what I needed to learn and I'm happy I didn't give up on this one. Probably the best armor study I've ever done x( I need to do more later, need more improvement.

Also an "enhanced" painting style in combination with my current character style, gotta say I like it. This was painted using values since that's what I'm going for from now on, just used a color layer in the end to add the colors.

The character belongs to TranquilCreation , I worked De'vin twice in the past but with different approaches and with my old style, this time I wanted her to be a Valkyrie because why not~ And tried playing some with lighting as well.

De'vin is sad in this picture for a specific reason, I thought it would be a nice touch.
I hope you like it Meg! Not the best armor but I'm quite proud of this attempt myself considering my armor-painting skills are beyond garbage. x)

You are inspiring with the armor texture and detail.  The beautiful feathers and the shading of her skin is just...wow.  The armor painting is beautiful!  You shush your mouth about 'garbage' armor skills because this is awesome!

;u; Certainly one comment I didn't expect on this, thank you so much for your kind words  I've never been very confident about my metal rendering, so I'd always push myself to try and make it look the best I can. These days I've gotten much better, but what I hated the most from back then is that I was stuck using textures and such, and it pissed me off :c The practice has been paying off though

I need to work on my armor as well!  I have changed my coloring style rather drastically but have yet to practice metal in that style (except for some jewelry).  Practice definitely makes perfect it seems

This is amazing and I feel truly blessed that you wanted to use her still. I appreciate your friendship beyond words. Your hard work truly shows, and you have grown so much! I cannot thank you enough for your kindness, and amazing talent. It is a great reflection of the transition that she has come to as well

You are always welcome. If I wasn't so busy studying right now I'd grab up a commission to help you out. I'm trying to learn photoshop, and I have a really good tutorial helping me. I was very adamant about drawing traditionally, but my hands hurt too bad for me to keep it up. With digital art I find it's not as taxing.

No worries Meg! We can't help all the time and I'm always grateful to you no matter what : ) Photoshop is really tricky and complicated at first but it gets easier once you get the hang of the tools and the menus Digital is indeed easier on the hands, and on the mind too since you have ctrl - z, duplicates, liquify in the case of photoshop (god bless), flip canvas, so many tools that make the life easier. Enjoy the trip with it Photoshop is hard but the best!

Knowing this the character and much what has happened, I think this came out beautiful!  I like how you have done the armor, its rough in appearance as it should be after seeing battle. The lighting and flare is also a powerful touch.  I think this is a very good piece!
