Remi is loud, outgoing, and gets fired up for all things magical girl.
While eager to learn, she's not academically inclined, and needs to spend a lot of time studying to really get something. If its really boring to her, its hard for her to sit down and dedicate the time she needs to understand it, often putting it off by reading comics.
She is awful on picking up subtle social cues, so she doesn't know the mood of a room is going down unless it smacks her right in the face. She's terrible with a less than amicable atmosphere and, for better or worse, will try to get people laughing.
Remi wasn't always so bright and bubbly, that shyness is near extinguished now but there are moments she hesitates. She is spurred forward by trying to emulate her favorite protagonists from magical girl comics/TV.

❤ History ❤

Remi's moms are both witch graduates who own a humble moodfood shop in suburban Magica. Their home is filled with lots of love, and were excited to have little baby Remi. She was very shy as a kid which led to her being home-schooled, where her parent hoped they could build up her speech and self-confidence before having her re-enter public school. Remi, having no siblings, spent a lot of time entertaining herself which got her into comics and tv-- particularly of the magical girl variety. Her magical girl infatuation and her pride in her witch parents made her dream of going to witch school herself. Between helping in the shop and emulating her favorite magical girl characters, she grew out of her shyness. Some of the regulars at the moodfood shop, having watched her transition into bright-and-loud Remi, will tease her about it.
When one of her moms fell sick, Remi didn't hesitate to take on extra work and planned to forfeit her dreams of magic school to help in the shop full time. She loves her parents more than anything and assured them it wasn't a problem, that she could learn witchy things from her two favorite witches. It still broke their hearts, they scaled back some elements of the shop and focused on growing presence to bring in enough revenue to hire help. At 17, her parents were happy to fire her, replace her with some new hands, and hand her a stack of magic school pamphlets.

[ Moms ] Remi has two moms! They both graduated from witch schools, one in herbology, the other in empathic magics.

[ The MoodFood Shop ] They make food that causes small bursts of emotion. The ingredients all used to be homegrown until one of her moms fell sick and they downsized their home garden. They're still locally sourced! They aren't the first to open a moodfood shop and certainly not the most popular one, but they've acquired a few accolades for working with police force to do more humane forms of interrogation. Her empath mom is also doing experiments to cause more niche emotions like "Waking up on a Sunday morning with nothing to do for the day." and "Watching a puppy stumble around as it learns how to walk". (They do have negative emotions available but none that elicit violence.)

[ Wand ] Remi wanted a wand with character, thinking back to her shows, she imagined that stronger emotions would it more powerful. The only things she has like that, aren't suitable for a wand (dolls and comics) so she took one of her mom's many cooking spoons.

[ Broom ] Like every kid goes school shopping, she went with her mom to a regular ol super market in Magica and picked the one that best matched her wand. She tied a bit of fabric to it for color. Her mom did offer to let her pick from the more expensive brands, but Remi hopes to come across one that speaks to her one day.
