Description
Xu Wenwu was just a regular warrior back in, i have no clue to be honest, so let's go with around a thousand years ago. So, around a thousand years ago, Xu Wenwu discovered ten mysterious rings which gifted him with unmatched power and immortality. Possessing the power of the rings, Wenwu went by the name, The Warrior King, and became a powerful warlord and founded the organization, known as the Ten Rings, named after the ten rings he had found and created his mighty empire which he ran for many centuries thanks to the immortality thanks to the Ten Rings themselves. In 1996, he went to search for a secret magical village to increase his power named, Ta Lo. However, when he got to the entry, he was stopped by its protector, Ying Li, who was the one who defeated him. He ended up laughing and fell in love with her. He would come by the next time with Food and Wine and they would talk and soon, Ying Li fell in love and she decided to ask the Council of Ta Lo to let them live together. However, they said that he would not be aloud, so she gave up her home to be with him. He felt bad, that she had to give up everything for him, so he did the same and stopped wearing the rings, for her and himself, now that he has a reason to grow old. The next year, she gave him a son named, Shang-Chi. He was so happy becoming a father, then he had a daughter a couple years later named, Xialing, and he enjoyed his life as a loving husband and father.

Sadly, one day while coming back from the village with groceries, he found his wife, killed by The Iron Gang and Shang-Chi came with him. Wenwu decided to put the rings back on and when he got to the Iron Gang, he slaughtered them all. From this, Wenwu's heart returned to being back as a Criminal Organizer and had Shang-Chi trained to be a perfect assassin. He even taught his daughter, Xialing how to do traditional cooking, since Xialing reminded him of his late beloved. One day, he learned that the leader of Iron Gang in America and had sent Shang-Chi to kill the leader of Iron Gang to avenge his mother, which he had done. Wenwu decided to reward his son, a chance to relax until he was needed again, so Shang-Chi stayed in America.

In Iron Man: Extremis Power, Killian and Gunsmith uses Wenwu's own organization to be the cover of Aldrich Killian's Extremis, which pissed off Wenwu, for being framed for something that he never did and the name that Killian and Gunsmith give him and now the world calls him this, "The Mandarin". He found it to be disrespectful and when he was trying to learn to see if his son was okay, one of his top Minions, Death Dealer delivers news that Tony Stark wants to meet with you. He thinks Tony is going to take him down, so Wenwu suits up and goes to Tony Stark. When he finally meets him, he reveals that Obadiah Stane hired them to take Tony down, because, he saw Tony as a spoiled brat who loves money and women. The Ten Rings were also were responsible for Ghost's knowledge of where Tony and Yinsen were held captive. Tony and Wenwu fought for a bit, until Tony says that he is sorry for the things he had done and wants to do the right thing. Wenwu was intrigued with Tony manning up for his actions and decides to spare him, if he leads him to Killian. Which, Tony did with Rhodey and Pepper. However, when Killian walked out of the burning ship, claiming to be better, Wenwu comes in and kills him. He thanks Tony and says that if Tony decides to go back to the person he once was, he would return to finish him off.

In Secret Wars, he was one of the 4 neutrals and was placed in Team Villains, for his Ten Rings Empire and massacre of ancient lives. But, he has done good things like, loving his family and giving up immortality for them. He isn't happy with Doom and is happy to take him down, but sadly the Secret War was over and he was sent back to his home. However, he heard a familiar voice, calling to him and telling him to go to Ta Lo to free her. He finds out that it is Ying Li's voice and what he believes is that she is alive somehow, and begins his quest of returning to Ta Lo to rescue her and be with her again.

In Shang-Chi: Ten Rings in Ta Lo, he assigns his henchmen, Razor Fist and Death Dealer to find Shang-Chi and Xialing and bring them back, because they have a necklace that Ying Li had given them to wear, which together, turns a dragon water fountain into a water map of how to get to Ta Lo once again. However, when he saw his son almost killed Death Dealer, he stopped him and hugged his son and was proud to see him again. He brings Shang-Chi, his annoying but nice friend Katy and his beautiful daughter Xialing to the Ten Rings HQ/ Wenwu's home and brings them up on all of the events that happened. He was sad when his children, Katy, his court jester named Trevor Slattery and a Hundun named, Dennis escape to Ta Lo to warn them, but he didn't care, because he already knew the way to Ta Lo. When he arrives, he is battle ready and tells the Council of Ta Lo that he is upset that they were denied to stay in Ta Lo, but he has planned to destroy the seal that hold a Dweller in Darkness, which he thinks is his Ying Li calling to him to rescue her. The Ten Rings had distracted the Ta Lo people with a war while Wenwu went to the seal to destroy it. But, he was stopped by Shang-Chi and they had an epic fight. When he threw his rings at him, only 5 came back and he was amazed at what his son had accomplished and they still fought. When the Dweller in Darkness comes out of the seal, he realizes that he was swindled by the creature and saved his son from being devoured and he gets devoured instead. But before he died, he looked at his son one more time, and remembering when he first held him in his arms. He smiled and gave the rings to him, giving his son a look of everlasting love, then he died.

After Shang-Chi destroyed the Dweller in Darkness, Shang-Chi honoured his father that night and he was with Ying Li once again. Xialing took over The Ten Rings and she would become The Warrior Queen. In Avengers: Infinite, he is brought up when they were trying to know who has been dusted or who is still around, only to learn that Wenwu already died, which shocked Tony, because, he knows that Wenwu had the rings which made him immortal, until he remembers that Shang-Chi has the rings on himself.

He is based on Tony Leung Chiu-wai version, because, he is the perfect casted role for this character. He also has inspiration from TMNT's Shredder and Mortal Kombat's Sub-Zero, because, it would look awesome and the Helmet is the best feature of this design. When i think of powerful warriors, similar to Wenwu, i think of the design of The Shredder and the colours and attributes of Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat. The Ten Rings are based on the MCU Version it is different and i think it was a good take on the Mandarin's rings. I also let him go by the name, The Warrior King because, it feels a lot better than The Mandarin. Like the MCU, The Mandarin name doesn't seem like it is respectful to his heritage and culture and it feels like he is a joke to others. Other than that, i really like his design and story.
